Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Roman. I am 38 years old. I live in Russia, not far from Lake Baikal.

I was always interested in technique and art in its various forms: graphics, sculptures, and others.

But this was not related to my main job. Although I have been doing photo and video editing for 15 years and sometimes I take pictures myself.

How would you describe your artistic style?

I still don’t have a specific style. Or I haven’t worked out my favorite yet. I have several collections with NTF works in different styles. I always leaned more towards abstraction. This is probably why one of my favorite and most successful collections is “Crypto Lighthouses” made in Pixel Art style. With good skill, it makes it possible to quickly convey the recognizable features of the object and fill the picture with the meaning the author needs.

Lighthouses are generally very cool buildings. Such a symbol of stability, it guides us, points the way to the goal, to home. If you are lost and are looking for some sense in your life, you need to find your own Lighthouse, the light of which will fill you with strength.

How did you get into the NFT space?

I first heard about NFTs from radio news. But I was not very interested, because even to register in the NFT market, it was necessary to spend a rather large amount of commission for GAZ on the Etherium network. Then, a half year later, one of my friends from Moscow suggested that I try to exhibit my work myself. At this time, Polygon blockchain was already actively working and it was easy and cheap to register at Opensea. I posted my work for the first time in September 2021. I’m quite a beginner, you could say.

What advice would you give artists that want to get into the NFT space?

Do not be afraid to create and exhibit your work. Sometimes even the most ridiculous and bizarre paintings sell well.

At the same time, they shouldn’t set a very high price right away.

What has been the biggest obstacle?

The promotion of my work. I am a rather shy person, I do not speak English very well, and in general, I have little practice. I had to get on Twitter, develop an Instagram page. But this is still not enough. There is not enough time to work on my primary work, create new NFT pictures and promote at the same time. BTW, every day, tons of messages come with an offer of paid promotion, but this is objectively an account growing by using bots and rude spam.

What is the biggest reward?

My most expensive one-time sale so far is Meta Tiger 2022 for $50.

The collection of Crypto Lighthouses is gradually being sold at a price of $ 2-20 per piece. I have high hopes for it.

For some, this amount looks ridiculous, but for me even the first $ 2 received was happiness.

What do you think about the NFT space and the metaverse?

I think this direction is very promising. In today’s world, limited by a pandemic and international political divisions, the metaverse is a great place to maintain communication between people.

Before, you went to exhibitions and bought paintings there, or ordered them from artists. Now, all you have to do is go to the Internet, choose the work you like out of a million offers in the NFT market, and purchase digital rights to it.

I think one day the entire direction of NFT will be reborn into something more versatile and will become not only digital art but a wider sphere of services.

Is there anyone you would like to collaborate with?

I can’t choose only one.

I see a lot of great artists with whom it would be interesting to do some kind of collaboration.

Of course, those I like and subscribe to on Instagram, this includes @Rbnks with his monumental constructions. Cool work from @sabet and @tomrobertsillustration too!
