Tell us a bit about yourself and how you came to identify as an artist:
Hi, my name is Aikman Khair. You can call me King Aikman. I am from Malaysia. 25 years old. An ex engineering student. So arts is not my major. My level maybe an amateur I could say. Still new.
Describe your artistic style:
I don’t have a specific style. I love all kinds of concepts.
How has your style evolved since you started?
I just started doing graphic design earlier this year. So I could say I’m still searching for what style of art suits my taste. But I can say my artwork is getting better.
What advice would you give artists that want to get into the NFT space?
My advice to the new artist, before you jump into NFT, you should learn the basics of cryptocurrency. Blockchains, tokens, smart contract etc… know why people invest in NFT’s… the importance. Benefits. Study the trends. Learn about gas fees. And DYOR: do your own research.
What has been the biggest obstacle?
For me, the biggest obstacle is to make a good project. I am doing this by myself. A good project needs a team and roadmap.
What is the biggest reward?
My biggest reward is when someone buys my art and they love it. It feels great when someone appreciates your art.
How did you get pulled into the NFT space?
Before this I was doing photography as a hobby and sold my work to stock websites. When NFT art started appearing in my country I saw a new opportunity to share my work.
What are your thoughts on the NFT space in your country?
NFTs are new in my country, Malaysia. We have a local NFT platform here. It’s called Pentas.io and you should check them out. It’s a good platform. Their focus is on heritage and cultural NFT’s. I hope more people in Malaysia can jump into the NFT space soon especially the artists that make good art.
