Where did the idea for this project come from?
I drew a crab for the first time last year when I made my first YouTube video (which I’m planning to get back to!). Eventually I drew a crab holding a knife. I found it so hilarious that I decided to start sketching ‘crabbies’.
How important is the artwork in making a project like this successful?
My current design type is vectorial. Plain yet rich in tiny details. You can find more of my design styles at @kubographics on IG. I do believe that making a lot of variations and tons of personalities will help to bring excitement to this type of art.
How was the avatar for your project chosen?
The avatar for my project is basically the tile of the project and collection. I spent a few hours drawing the perfect typography for the project, trying to keep balance between fun and reliable.
Once a member owns an avatar for your platform, what can they do with it?
Initially, people will be able to trade NFTs while it increases in value and interest within the NFT collectors community.
Where do you see your project going from here?
I would love to produce an app for IOS and Android that would be similar to Tamagotchis in the early 2000’s. I want people to train, feed and play with their Crabbies to prepare them for competitions. Kind of like the Olympics, but if we go to a more recent and famous comparison, let’s say like SquidGames from Netflix.
Each NFT on OpenSea currently has a hidden code that can be revealed only by the owners. This code will be used to retrieve the Crabbie on the app and eventually on the game as well.
What skills and talent does a project like this need to be successful?
I think the key is a mixture of good artwork, great coding, visioning of the games, and marketing (an area I suck at). But, hopefully, and thanks to the owners, I’ll be able to hire a team of professionals to help me.
What is the next major milestone?
The creation of the app. Right now I’m releasing NFT’s and enriching the overall value of the collection by adding new and rare items. The other stages will be funded through these sales. Eventually I’ll hire professionals to help me complete the app. Users will then be able to interact with their Crabbies on a daily basis similar to the Poe app.
